The dark, violent side of Iceland's drug trade is brought to life in director Óskar Thór Axelsson's gritty debut feature, based on Stefán Máni's bestselling gangster novel. Emerging into the daylight after a night in a Reykjavik police cell, Stebbi (Thor Kristjansson) meets childhood friend Tóti (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson), who is now an enforcer in one of the city's drugs gangs. In exchange for Tóti's help with clearing him of any police charges, Stebbi agrees to doing a 'favour' for his old friend. Over the coming months, he becomes increasingly involved in the seemingly glamorous and casually violent activities of the small time drugs gang. Stebbi soon finds events quickly spiral out of his control, however, when, with the arrival of a brutal new leader (Damon Younger), the gang decide to up the ante and take total control of the Island's drug trade.
